Starting off with flowers because I can... Has nothing to do with the renovation, but I love lilacs....
Back to the kitchen. Day two consisted of placing tiles in the appropriate layout. I had a choice of a grid pattern or offset like brickwork. I chose a grid pattern. These are big tiles and I think the bigger tiles look better on a grid. When I got home the tiles were laid out with little spacers.
The next day - Saturday - was thin set the tiles to the floor day. This is Ernie, tiler extraordinaire.
A couple days later, Ernie came back and grout came about!
And I'll leave it at this for a while, since the kitchen sat like that for a while.
